In Tauranga, you are never far from the water. Whether it’s a beach or a river, there are plenty of places to swim throughout Tauranga. Here we will list some of the more popular swimming spots as well as some of the lesser known or uncommon spots that are certainly worth a dip in.

Pilot Bay is a habourside beach a few blocks over from Mount Maunganui Beach. Pilot Bay is a calm, beach great for picnics and kids.

A half hour drive from Tauranga plus a 40 minute walk through the bush leads you to this swimming hole. It sits in the Kaimai’s accessed by a track out Aongatete.
