Sunrise manages all toll payments at a fixed rate of $3 per toll, charged to your card after use, so you never need to stop or pre-purchase anything.

The primary pickup location is in Welcome Bay, Tauranga. Airport transfers to and from Tauranga Airport are also available.

Auckland

For travellers flying into Auckland, pickup is available from Milldale, with Auckland Airport transfer options also on offer. This makes Sunrise a practical choice for anyone planning a one-way or multi-city North Island journey.

Booking Information

Simple, Straightforward, and Online

Bookings are made directly through the Sunrise Car Rental website. A minimum rental period of three days applies, and bookings need to be made at least three days in advance. Last minute or emergency bookings can be requested via email and the team will do their best to help.

Payment is made at the time of booking by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or debit card. Cash is not accepted. A $500 bond is required at the time of vehicle collection, which is refunded at the end of the hire.

Age Requirements

Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a full, current licence that has been held for a minimum of 12 consecutive months. All licences must be presented in person at pickup.

Additional Drivers

Additional authorised drivers are permitted, subject to meeting the same licence requirements. An additional driver fee may apply.

Cancellations

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before pickup incur a 10% fee. Cancellations within 24 hours, or no-shows, are charged at 100% of the total rental cost.
