Papamoa

Papamoa Is Simply Beautiful

All About Papamoa

Sunny Papamoa is a suburb within the city of Tauranga. Located about 11 kilometres from Tauranga Central Business District. It is the largest residential suburb in Tauranga, having a population of 20,091 according to the 2013 census. It is bordered to the west by Mount Maunganui and the east by the Kaituna River. Located in the beautiful Bay of Plenty region.

Papamoa Beach has a long white sandy beach stretching for 16km. Right from the boundary with Mount Maunganui in the west to the Kaituna River in the east. Widespread settlement of the area did not begin until the early 1980s, and prior to this, Papamoa Beach was once a largely rural area.

Papamoa certainly was a rather small community. However, during the summer months, it was often visited by holiday goers and campers from around the country.

As of today, Papamoa’s long stretch of paddocks have been taken over by urban development. Having already become Tauranga’s largest suburb, it is still and will continue to rapidly grow. It is currently one of the fastest growing suburbs of Tauranga. With many different subdivisions developing simultaneously on different blocks of land on the fringes of the suburb.

The population of Papamoa (Situated between neighbouring Mount Maunganui and Te Puke) grows increasingly larger during the summer months. This is due to people staying in holiday homes, a holiday park or camping in other ways, such as freedom camping.

Reasonably close to the city centre, traveling from Papamoa into other areas of the city is generally pretty good.

Nearby are also other local attractions, such as the Papamoa Hills

Papamoa Beach is well known as a popular fishing, surfing, and holiday destination. For those looking to escape, Papamoa is a fantastic Bay of Plenty beach holiday.
